What We Do

Building Bridges Foundation At Anderson Farm provides equine-assisted therapy that is delivered in a safe, supportive, and natural environment.  Our Equine Assisted Psychotherapy (EAP) services address a wide variety of mental health and human development needs and our Equine Assisted Learning (EAL) services focus on education, learning specific skills or gaining new awareness or insights. All therapy is client-centered and all therapy is performed on the ground with the horses. Participants do not need any prior experience with horses.

Our Approach is:

  • Client Centered – We believe it’s the client/participant who can determine the kinds of changes they need in order to improve their life.  Participants learn and practice mindfulness, cognitive, behavioral and emotional regulation techniques that they can take back with them to their home and career.
  • Hands-On Learning – Equine therapy is engaging and interactive, making it a preferable form of treatment for many when compared to traditional therapy.  It facilitates in the moment problem-solving and behavioral modification which creates long lasting changes in just a few sessions.
  • A Team Approach – Both a Mental Health professional and an Equine professional work with client(s) to guide the therapeutic experience during a session.
  • Solution-Oriented – We believe that it is our role to “hold space” for our clients as they engage with the horses and discover their own solution to their problems.   Working with the horses helps clients access, validate and experience the changes they want to make to cope with life challenges and move towards a life of making choices based on what they value.

Thank you Testimonial

There are many things I could say, but the most accurate is thank you. Thank you for helping me get my family back, my job steady, and teaching me how to reframe my mindset. From the bottom of my heart, Thank you.

This foundation is an absolute godsend in my life, the therapy is effective and the results that it produces are profound. I grew up around horses and am an experienced hand with them, however, for this experience, I found that experience wasn’t necessary, for the horses are there to help guide one in their journey towards resolving the issues that burden them.  As a combat vet with PTSD, I have truly experienced healing through the power of this program; the horses bring about a peaceful tranquility that is unparalleled
